Has anyone noticed how much a person AGES in the office of President? That is one helluva high pressure job, one that I would never want. It's going to push the boundaries of the human psychological ability to cope.
Some day, you guys watch: the way we elect Presidents, based on slogans and popularity, and artificiality without really testing them....one day we will elect a President who will have a nervous breakdown, develop a nervous twitch, go ape*****, and hit the launch code to a nuclear weapon. |
LBJ, Carter
|
Jackson is high on the list of worst Presidents for thumbing his nose at the Supreme Court. Of course Bush II, just look at what's coming out now RE: politically motivated Justice Dept. hirings, among a boatload of other grievances. Johnson, definitely, for lying us into Vietnam. Grant's admin was marked by total corruption and ineptitude. Nixon, nuff said there as well as Clinton for staining the office, and various blue dresses.
problem is there are so many variables for defining the worst President. For overall ineptitude combined with corruption, cronyism and generally taking a healthy country and leaving it in terrible shape by every measure, Bush II is highest on the list. |
Bush would have to serve for 50 years as POTUS to equal the crimes and damage done by LBJ.
As usual, shaun is dead wrong, but hateful as always. I think it's time to finally put this kid on ignore. |
Hard to imagine somebody outscoring Dubya on any of these measures:
Corruption: Is this Dubya's war, or Halliburton's? And what about all those scientific boards and councils that have been discredited by Bush and Cheney cronies twisting their reports? Ineptitude: No specific examples should be necessary. In terms of pure "administration" (keeping track of matters, following through, doing the business of running a government).....at least the other presidents READ, for God's sake. Strategic Vision: Yeah, I know a lot of you guys think Saddam was the head of Al Queda and that Iraq's toppling was the key to addressing terrorism. And you guys know my belief that there were few actions more likely to aid Al Queda recruiting than this one. But setting that aside, what other agenda, what other vision, can you say Dubya has had? I mean, aside from standing behind the pharmaceutical companies and the oil companies. None. The book called "My strategic plan, domestic and foreign, for America" by Dubya would have one chapter. Iraq. Not even terrorism. Just Iraq. Worst president ever? That's easy. Nobody else is in this guy's league. |

I doubt we've seen the worst President ever, not yet.
As for the two guys running now, I think either one will set a new low in terms of economic leadership. Neiter one of them knows or wants to know anything about the economy. Neither one of them cares anything about small business. Neither one of them has ever really worked for a living. Both of them have huge egos based on who knows what. It's going to be an ugly 4 years. |

That's why I'm hoping Obama will win. Break down a few of these "boys" networks. |
So, McCain's pilot experience 50 years ago is his work experience? If so, then I'll have to oppose you on that. It's like saying Nancy Pelosi has work experience because she attends US House meetings and got herself elected as House Speaker.
There is work experience, and then there is work experience. If you have ever been responsible for turning a profit, if you have ever had to cut your own pay to make payroll, if you have ever had to go out and drum up new business, if you have ever had to personally fire someone in order to deal with an economic slowdown, then you have work experience. If you have ever been afraid for your own job because the company is facing competition from overseas and is over regulated by our Federal or ovezealous State government, then you have work experience. Sniper, you have chosen the wrong guy to say he has "work experience". If you wanna go on this one, then I'm game. McCain and Obama are BOTH bad choices. We are scraping the bottom of the barrel, end of report. |
You said McCain has never worked a day in his life. Clearly you are out of your mind.
5 years in a cage in service of your nation isn't "work"? |
