Need brake bleeding tool advice.

I got no response on the 911 Tech. section. And I'd like to place an order today to make sure I can flush my brakes next weekend. I used one of those Mityvac-like vacuum kits with compressed air at a PCA tech session last year and also used my Motive on the m/c. I never bleed, but rather always fully flush and switch between ATE Blue and Gold each time. So it's no problem to tell the new fluid is in. This system worked fabulously last time and my pedals are still rock hard a year later. Now my Motive is dead and I don't have access to a pro shop. But I do have an air compressor, so I was thinking of buying this kit again. I'll buy another Motive pressure bleeder. But what's the best vaccum one to get that runs on compressed air? Is Mityvac no good at all?

I bought a hand-pump pressure bleeder from Pelican. It has worked flawlessly for me.

I really want to make use of my air compressor. I feel like I'm walking around with a hammer looking for nails to beat down.

If you have an asian car the ford adapter is supposed to work but I haven't tried it.

Yes, I plan to buy another Motive today. Last time I used that in conjunction with a vacuum bleeder run by an air compressor. It was an awesome system. But the Mityvac vacuum kit doesn't get good reviews by other Pelicans.

You could make your own that used a compressor with this.

Notice it is 40% of the cost of the whole kit an you stil have to buy bottles, fittings ets for your air compressor/

Keep it simple RL. Why complicate things? Motive works great, I've had so so luck with a mityvac.

I used speedbleeders on my RX8 back when I drove cool cars. They were shockingly effective for something so cheap and easy.

Well, I don't know the brand of the vacuum bleeder I used last year at Curry's and again at HBL's tech sessions. They looked like the Mityvac kit and worked awesome. I had speed bleeders on my SC. My 993 has Big Reds, which have two bleeders per caliper. I'll probably install speed bleeders when I rebuild and repaint the calipers. But not necessary just yet.

clear tube and coke bottles....gravity bleed. works perfect and can be sped up with an old m/c cap with a air fitting installed

The motive unit came with hoses for the calipers. I just use a used milk jug to catch the used brake fluid. It's also handy for dropping the stuff off at the recycler.

I always make my own catch bottle with some 1/4" tubing and a plastic water bottle.

Just ordered the black label Motive from Pelican.....and stainless steel brake lines for the 993 and four cans of ATE Blue, since I need to flush the BMW and wife's MINI too. I thought I was gonna spend $50 today and it's $212 now.

I have a mighty-vac, gathering dust on a shelf.
I have one of those brake bleeding systems, sitting on a shelf gathering dust.

I use speed-bleeders and never look back. they are awesome and easy. And cheap. About $12 an axle IIRC.
I can completely flush the entire brake system on my 911 in about 15 minutes by myself and without jacking up the car.
And without gertting brake fluid in my hair or eyes

Oops, $12.75 an axle. That's a one time cost of $25.50 per car. Plus tax and brake fluid.
