Whats the reliabilty of a 03 X-type Jag?

I have a client that wants one. I assume its the same reliability of a ford contour as they are built on the same chassis and use the same engine (more or less). Is the ford built jag any better quality than the old British crap boxes.

I don't want to buy him a guaranteed lemon.

I've been driving a 98 XJR for years and it has been a good car, fast too. I love it
