Why does the discussion of whether a supreme being actually exists or not have any bearing on a discussion of what man has done in the name of religion? To me, the two are completely separate issues. If they are, in fact, separate issues, then why does the hatred of man's attempt at organized religion bleed over into a discussion of whether a supreme being actually exists? |
Jim, why do you even mention the false gods?
There is only one true God. KT |

Rick, because there are people that get fighting mad when you deny or discredit the unproven deity that they happen to worship. Take men out of the equation, and all you have left is the animal and plant kingdoms to discuss this topic. Hmmm...maybe that's what we have now. :)

JWs have some wacky beliefs, its true. I know a half dozen, and they are all lovely people, collectively and individually- I suspect Trekkkor is too. But Ive fallen foul of mainstream believers for defending JWs. A friends wife went me with white hot poker one night not so long back for defending another friends wife (a JW, who according to her beliefs, did not attend a birthday celebration). She was fully cogniscient, and extremely critical of, the irrational nature of the JWs beliefs, but unable to apply the same criteria to her own (Methodist) beliefs. And these people have much more in common in their beliefs than they do apart. I wonder if an Islamist, say, would generally even acknowledge the difference? And at end of the day- they would arguing over which of their supernatural delusions is superior. |

No, you NEVER attack anyone. But I will say, that last post was one of the longest I've seen you post. It still had nothing personal or original, but at least you're working on the substance. |
That's quite a stretch ( and an imagination ).

I'd consider that an attack. Maybe you're just not AWARE that you're doing it. well, here's your wake up call. If you REALLY HONESTLY don't intend on attacking people here, then you need to readjust the way you post in these threads. |

Sorry, sir. You are wrong. That's not an attack. That's a fact. I was told I was all alone in my belief and I stated that there are 7 million all over the worls that believe as I do. That's not an attack. It's called a statement of fact. Please don't smear me. KT |
KT, pulled this off a website regarding how JW interpret the "end of days". Is this what the JW really believe? If not then please feel free to correct the paragraph.

I guess your members aren't doing such a good job convincing people yours is the one true religion: "However, there has been a decline in growth rates, from over 8% per annum in the mid 1970s, to 5% per annum in the mid 1990s, to about 2%–3% per annum since 1999" |

If I hold multiple beliefs that have no foundation in scientific evidence, does that make them all irrational, and should they be discarded? |
