Do you trust your electronic voting machines?
From How I bought used voting machines on the Internet (an oldie but a goodie):

Check out blackboxvoting.org
Also, there is a slashdot.org posting today on how a bunch of machines have been de-certified by the states that use them... Really fun part is the last armed revolt against the govn't was over voting issues (battle of athens, ten. 1946)

I would think that anyone could manipulate vote counts if they were determined to do so. Trouble is how they would get enough conspirators to go along with it to make a difference AND do so unknowingly so they'd never be caught. It always amazed me that people thought FL in 2000 was rigged. Why would they have rigged it by only 537 votes, not knowing about absentee ballots not yet counted and with New Mexico being almost as close, but with their polls closing two hours later?

I'd trust 'em about as much as I trust Oregon's register and vote by mail system...
