Buy my SRX.......please
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=240624037&dealer_id=62211049&car_year=2004&model=SRX&num_records=25&systime=&make2=&start_year=1981&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=25&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&make=CAD&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=67226&advanced=&end_year=2008&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=0
So, we've managed to settle our differences, and it's time to sell. One month or so ago, when I was enraged with Cadillac and GM, it was because of a misfire on #3. After replacing spark plugs, and 4 cylinders worth of coil packs (only way they come), the damn thing still had a CEL and misfire under hard acceleration. It never happened under normal usage (i.e. my wife), but I knew it was there, and it drove me nuts. Well, lo and behold, the battery I knew was weak finally died on it this weekend. After replacement, no more issue with misfires. ![]() So anyway, I can now put it up for sale with a clear conscience. I've had a few minor issues with it, but I'd be willing to bet it costs a LOT less to maintain than the Porsche Cayenne S or BMW X5 4.4i that it competes with. We're selling because the wife wants a bigger SUV to hold kids and stuff. To that end, we'd consider a trade for a Nissan Armada with equal/less miles. I'd say it's easily the best driving SUV you can buy used for $20k. Super clean, in great condition, loaded. Northstar DOHC V8, AWD, 5 speed manumatic, power 3rd row seat, Bose audio, leather power heated seats, 54k, $20,500 OBO. Check out the ad for more info if you're interested.

![]() The car has been flawless, at least according to my wife: once I got the car back from Kansas I was informed my services were no longer needed. Thanks, Matt. Best of luck with the SRX.

Leaky valve seats. Typical GM problem (except SAAB). Pull the heads and lap the valves.

Paul, I can't say I disagree. I'm trying to find that "sit on your ass at a desk all day and lose weight" diet. Steve, you mean my glorified one car garage, so crammed full of stuff that my car sits outside? ![]()

I don't know.
You have been raving about this car in a number of threads, and now you want to get rid of it after short term ownership and lots of problems because your wife wants something bigger? Most wives want something bigger. That's not a sufficient reason for anything. I just don't know. Sorry.

Dottore, if you're getting at what I think you're getting at, I can't say I like it.
We sold our 4Runner because we wanted something bigger. SRX is bigger, but not by a lot, and I convinced my wife that it would be fine. Mainly because it has 320 HP and is sporty as hell, and I wanted it. She's had it about one year, and never been happy with the size. I'm finally giving in, and selling the SRX to buy her a Nissan Armada. I love the way it drives, always have. It's like a tall BMW 540. I haven't been particularly happy with some of the issues it has had, but they have been worked through. IT NEEDS NO REPAIRS. I just spent over $400 on coil packs, spark plugs, and a battery to fix it's misfire condition. I would say that compared to a BMW X5 or Porsche Cayenne, which would be it's primary competition, it is probably far more reliable. If we met in person, would you question my integrity? The annonymous internet makes it easy to do so, but it still is very much not appreciated. Every vehicle I have sold is at it's best when I sold it, and I could find plenty of people that would vouch for that.

![]() Myself, on the other hand...... Starting in 2003 I had the '70 911T, then a '99 Audi A4, '87 944 Turbo, '95 BMW 540/6, '02 Mazda Protege5, '93 325i, '97 Saab 900SE, '00 Silverado, then my current '93 Saab 9000 Aero. Once I FINALLY graduate in May, I'll probably sell the Saab for something newer and with less miles.

Matt:
I did not mean to question your integrity in any way. Not at all. In fact I just stuck a "Must Not Post on PPOT When Drinking!" sticker on my computer. Looks like a fine machine.

Dottore - no worries
Craig, after having a 2003 El Dorado as a loaner, I can say that the SRX is a HUGE improvement over the past. I'd say the interior quality of the ElDo was probably on a par with most Cavaliers. Paled in comparison to even a Camry or Accord, definitely not the "standard of the world". What a POS that car was.

For certain.
GM has drastically improved its cars - the SRX was truly the first step - now cars like the Malibu are superior to most other cars in it's class. So you effectively went from Worse to Almost OK ;-)
