Mechanics pls. advise

Alright, alldata stinks, I hate it.

Here's the issue. I replaced the condensor, evaporator, front expansion valve, compressor, Aux air valve (rear a/c), rear expansion valve, dryer and tracked down an electrical problem that took about 2 hours of my time. I also flushed the system, vacuumed it down and charged it. I have no idea what the book time is for all those listed above except the actual time I spent on the electrical problem, with which I was very gracious, as I was with the 5 hours I spent building a hard line from the dryer to the condensor.

I have 7 hours that I know are billable hours, but for the rest, I have no book times.

So, if I may impose, what are the book times on replacing and servicing the rest?
Again, condensor, evaporator, front expansion valve, compressor, Aux air valve for rear a/c, rear expansion valve, dryer, flush the system, vacuum it down and charge it.

If I were to guess, it's about 21-22 hours total.

Thanks.

I charged $200. Do you think that was a fair deal?

I think that double that ($400) would have still been more than fair. Don't sell yourself (and your services) short!

no-Data does not have that model/year labor listed, But I do play a BMW tech by day. I would say 18 billed hours for for all the standard replacement items to include evac + recharge. The hard line or custom work another 6-9 billed hrs

I've done this and those are fair times

I have some work for you. I'll even pay for your plane ticket to get out here.

Since school started yesterday, I can't committ to anything until the 15th of December, but I'll have my bags packed then, send the ticket.

The deal was squirrely. He brought his own parts, including two parts that we used on another car that had to get out of the shop. He bought those parts again from someone out there on the interweb and brought them when he dropped the car off. Prior to bringing in the car, he had bought a condensor from us and installed it himself. No big deal, except we sold him the wrong condensor which we would find out later when the high side pressures were through the roof. There weren't enough rows allowing sufficient surface area to cool the freon down. He/we waited 3 weeks to get the right condensor sent to us, that again, he bought on his own. I put it on, it was good to go.

Come yesterday, the shop didn't want to honor a return on the condensor he bought from us in the beginning. Someone must have been having a bad day, I don't know, but I'm sure I made it worse when I told the shop that he wasn't going to pay the hugh chunk of change that is my labor.

That's how you get a good deal. If someone feels like they are getting fuched, and I could tell this guy did, I'll make it right. I don't give a chit about the money.

Sorry, I was mostly kidding when i said that.
But he certainly got a good deal, and kudos to you for going the extra mile to keep the customer happy.
