the jammers offered here in scottsdale airpark(fergot brand) are just a black box w/a 12v plug in a red light showing its on. no noise, no audible. what they advertise is a "curtain of secrecy" around you. all the damn things do is screw up ossifer opie's digital readout on his lazer gun. either (1) bazzillion MPH(aurora) or (0) MPH (yer in-whiz-able) shows up. well any kindergarden educated ossifer will realize he is being FUCHED with by a jammer. lazers here in az. are never just "ON". they point and shoot at traffic. this is the beam the jammer detects. if he isnt shooting it, then jammer will not pick up. if he sees a red cab from hell(mine) buzzing along with an illegal grin on his face(me), and suddenly the freeking digital reads out juan bazzillion MPH, he knows the aurora project has just gone by w/a jammer and he just does his lil calc's off of his CALIBRATED w/in a nats ass speedo(try beating that juan) and you are toast even if you have jammed gears and laid on the binders and thrown the anchor out.

are they worth it???? i'll say yes. it adds a lil more comfort to a escort/valentine "dar dar" detector.

bottomline run with the hillbillys in da semi's, dont draft behind them a la nascar and piss 'em off and you will be fine. always rin with traffic and let the morons who want to race you in some POS winged corolla be the "rabbit" for you. if the POS corolla doesnt get a race outta you he will floor it and show you how bad he is and go high tailing across the country side thinking hes a bad mofo until he gets nailed. always allow a "SACRIFICIAL LAMB" haul buns in front of you.

i havent had a ticket in over 27 years and i always break the law! knock on wood. leaving for new messiko monyana and i already know where dps hangs out. they are creatures of habit like most of us. they need to be hidden and they need easy haul buns access onto roadway and it needs to be safe so they dont cause an accident.

its the juans going mobile same direction or opposite that you really need to watch for. the best juan dps uses here is the onramps onto freeways. they will sit up high on grade of overpass, nail you with the "death ray" and if ya dont watch yer mirrors at every on ramp before ya know it, you got a mirror full of cherries and yer wiping poo off of yerself and you get the "DUNCE CAP"!

hauling buns in a low slung porsche at night is not exactly my idea of fun. all it takes is juan small critter(bunny wabbit/coon/pig/dog/katz/etc.) and your trip will be over if it nails your oil cooler or lines. if ya hit anything bigger(deer/elk/horse/sheep/wolf/jackass/blown tire debris) you will become VAPORIZED and a lousy speeding ticket will be the least of yer worries.

now since i live and werk in a exclusive small town atmosphere where all the freeking cotton tops throw big pesos at the re-elect "shurf joe" fund, we get extra heavy duty "dar-dar" coverage. yer standard 45-35-25mph zone "dar-dar" with shurf in middle of median hidden by foliage. my escort will give ample warning on highway/city/auto mode if they have it constantly on. butt...............if he is doing point and shoot...........i have about 3 pico seconds to trim speed or be nailed. on occasion i will take der porschen to werk and you should see those morons drooling to give me a ticket. they will move about town about every 1/2 hour 45 minutes and if im buzzing errands i will take a different route just to fuch with them.

ya gotta be smarter than they are. no rocket science here.

There are laser jammers also and their legality is a lot less suspect than radar jammers since they don't transmit on RF. Ya' can't ban light.

the model offered here in snobbsdale covers all bands "x" - "k"- "ka"-und lazer(death ray). i think it was about $ 179 for it when buddy bought it prior to 2006 baja 1000 trip. blocks everything and is about size of a pak of smokes.

juan ticket here in good ol sunny az. will easily pay for it. look up jammers and whatever one is sold out of scottsdale airpark is the one we used.

Hitting a deer is my biggest, (and only), worry while driving at night on interstate highways outside of cities. The only defense is to hang behind semis and use them as rolling brick walls between you and road hazards. Every time I step out from behind one to pass, I tense-up slightly until I'm behind another one. The good news is that most of the traffic OTR @ night are trucks, so there are usually a flock of them everywhere.

Just a little update on the southbound interstate 5/138 east interchange. Coming home today at 6p.m. there was a CHP (b/w) with 2 cars pulled over at the 5/138, a 1/2 mile up was a CHP (p/u truck) with a car pulled over, another 1/4 mile up was a CHP (white Crown Vic) with 2 cars pulled over and as I passed the "brake check area" there was a CHP (white Crown Vic) waiting to jump and I got off at Gorman where there was a CHP (white Crown Vic) jumping on at hi speed going after someone, and I passed 2 CHP (they love those white Crown Vics) head to the Gorman onramp to bail Calif. out of it's budget crisis.

Drive safe this holiday weekend and if you're heading south on the I5 at the top of the Grapevine, watch out!

Laws vary. In the UK, they're illegal. It'll save you a ticket the first time, which they'll chalk up to whatever.

The next time, it can earn you a 6:00 AM visit from Plod, who will impound the vehicle, take their own sweet time removing the illegal equipment (at your expense), and charge you with obstruction of justice.

Motorists are just much easier targets than criminals, it seems.
