Any idea how those bars got their name? I rode a hardtail chopper with a springer, exactly 1 block before turning around. I had to back up to turn in a res street. Complete buffoonery.

I know it's not an ape, but this is the only pic I could find on short notice of a simian with it's arms raised.

Will I be given a one way ticket to Ban Island if I think this bike (not the rider) is kinda-sorta-lil'bit cool? I couldn't see myself riding it unless it was dark out, but...

man those apes are the stupidest things ive ever seen. i love an old chopper and generally hate apes. those take the award for the dumbest most dangerous, uncomfortable and dorkiest looking things ive ever seen. crap like that gives the custom bike/chopper scene a bad rap

-not taking about the bicycle above, but that baffoon on the motobike

Wha? That's way cool. I'd ditch the knobbies for some redline slicks, though...

Bicycle choppers are the "next big thing"...

Thank you, Mr. Out-of-Context. Now which "apes" are you referring to? The "photo-apes", the "baby-apes" or the "bicycle-apes"?

Sure ape hangers are dumb, but how else are the insurance salesmen going to pretend to be badas$es?

(my brother runs an insurance company, and he has apes on his harley. And really loud pipes too. He's a real rebel)

Next to him? Yer probably OK. Behind him? Yer totally safe. In front of him? Yer fuched. He's gonna mow you down and not even know he did it with his spectacular steering skillz on that thing.

How in the world did those extended apes get by a LEO? I can't imagine a highway patrol allowing such an unsafe MC to continue on the road. Seriously.

Harley's pretty much get a free pass on illegal mods. It doesn't matter if it is ape hangers or loud exhaust.

Besides, we all know taht it's those darn Japanese bikers that cause all of the problems!
