Selling my Ducati ...

It's been a fun, short run and happily I'm still alive

I received this bike in trade from a friend for some work and some parts I gave up.

It's a 2008 S4Rs Testastretta w/ 6,500 miles. No issues. Pristine condition.

It's basically a Monster (naked) bike with the more upright seating position, and a slightly detuned 999R engine (130hp), full Ohlins suspension and the magnesium Marchesini wheels that come on the full-blown Superbikes.

I figured someone here might have interest and I would do a Pelican discount for anyone here!

I'd do $8,900 for a Pelican. Located in Fremont, CA.

Moderators - I know there isn't really a great place to post stuff for sale so my apologies if this post bothers you ; you may feel free to delete this

Email me and I'll give you my number and we can talk. Kindersport@gmail.com

Thanks!
Scott

I like it but I'm holding out for an adventure tourer (heavily favoring the BMW k1600gtl right now)

Sweet ride!

If I didn't live in LA I'd be interested. Won't ride a bike here.

...and gently ridden as evidenced by the chicken-strips on the front tire. Very nice bike. Actually looking for a Monster but planning to sell my 04 GS Adventure first.

That is a plus !

As many of us get older a touring bike is way more practical.

I sold a Guzzi G5 1000 that I rather wish I hadn't. I see a sport touring bike in my future.

Christ. I've been looking for a Monster, albeit a 2V. I demo'd a 999S (same motor) and that thing made silly power. Wife won't be happy with this thread.

Hope you still have my old bike, Scott. Pedal power for 2 wheeling. Keeps you in better shape.

It is a very fun bike. I don't have much cajones (or is it experience) to be laying the bike down in turns and sliding on the edge of those tires. . . I know this bike is WAY more than I can really make use of.

That said, it is incredibly approachable despite making silly power. If you just short-shift it (~4k), the thing has gobs of torque and just kind of ambles around town.

However, if you have a nice airport runway access road that is completely deserted ( ), it's kind of like this:

I don't have much experience with bikes, but I have to say this one has a lot of "soul". You really must try a Ducati before you're gone and dead. This one is also kind of interesting , maybe like a 426 Mopar; the bike just seems grossly overpowered in this fantastic, hooligan-ish way. . . like it's twisting the frame off its mounts as it rockets you forward . . .

Don't fight gravity.

I had a 2v monster, 2000 900S. It had plenty of pull, buy not anything close to the beast this thread describes. You don't need big power to enjoy a monster. The 620/695/750 monsters....they all make a nice rumble with the right exhaust. And the power is very manageable. And at this point, older 2v bikes are a pretty good deal as well.

Yes, I am the devil on your shoulder.
