How to make $400k in one afternoon

Get on a boat with a bunch of young ladies in bikinis and a keg of beer, and have your photo taken while pouring them beer from the keg directly in their mouth. Once the photo gets in the press, get $400k for your resignation from the community college where you worked as president. Easy .

Stupid me. It said the girls were all of legal drinking age. What's the problem. CC Board should be voted out.

Danny -
when we got a new one 6 years ago, the outgoing guy made 175k plus a housing allowance and a gas allowance. The new guy took the job for 225k + 25k moving + 50k one time housing, plus the old guys housing and gas allowance.

That's insane. They make that kind of skanool just to babysit a bunch of post-teen, video-gamer slackers who couldn't get into a good college? Where do I sign up?

It's just community college for crying out loud - it's not like any of those students have REAL futures or anything...

Hey, at least now they can make it onto "Girls Gone Wild XVII". Crowning achievements!

Hey now, I took some CC courses! My wife graduated from one! Of course, we both applied those credits to a 4-year BS at a major college, so it's a bit different. For your pointless classes, there's no easier or cheaper way to get those credits than at a CC. Just so things transfer, you're golden.

Forgot the green.

For that or for continuing ed, CC is great. I actually did some of my "core" courses for undergrad at a CC because the price per credit hour was about 1/3 what it was at my university.

Ya got to admit though, there are a LOT of people at the local community/junior college that are just kinda' "there"... It's High School Part II for a lot of them.

For a motivated but cash-strapped student, CC can literally be the difference between a college education and no college education.

That said, I took a welding class last fall, and I and my friend were only their to casually learn and we were far more serious than the slackers in the class that wanted to be professional welders. In a class of ten people, there were two A's (my friend and I), 4 C's, and 4 F's. Two people never showed for more than one class--but didn't drop it either. Two others missed at least four classes. The instruction had really been boild down to the lowest common denominator and just showing up for every class was all that was really required to pass. That was too high a standard for 40% of the class!!!

I think the highly-motivated students are in the minority in CC, but it's existence is well justified because it allows them to come out of the college experience with the same credentials but less debt.

"Paxton, 52, has said all of the people who were drinking in the boat when the photograph was taken were of legal age.

He said the beer keg was broken and wasn’t dispensing beer into the young woman’s mouth.

He said his 19-year-old son, who was arrested for second-offense drunken driving early the next morning, was in the boat but was not drinking."

Wow... The guy deserved to be fired, but not for the latest incident. He was indicted and plead to falsifying grades in 2002 and kept his job, but if he parties a little and it's adios? The board was looking for any reason to bid farewell.

I did my undergrad at Michigan State. My girlfriend was going to a CC to pick off the low level courses. She paid way less, and I was under the impression that her professors we a lot more enthusiastic that the burned out hacks we had teaching us.....

I'm sorry, why isn't he in jail, again?
Did he contribute money to the Republicans [edit: or the Democrats? Or does it matter]?
