No sheet. Too bad it wasn't adopted by all.

It seems to be tempered at least today. A lot of days I get frustrated looking for 'innocent' threads and just give up.

The intelligence and creativity level of PPOT has plunged. Anyone scanning the front thread page would think this is mostly a bunch of dopes, some in competition for most new threads per day. We used to discuss varied, electic, interesting. important topics. People with real knowledge would post thoughtful stuff. Now, hardly ever.

True, it has been bad before. Back when Mulholland, FastPat, etc would each start 10 cut-and-paste threads a day on the same few topics. PPOT pulled back from the brink then and returned to its old and better self. I'd like to see it do so again.

Until it does, I've basically lost interest in PPOT. There are a couple of ongoing threads I post in occasionally, but that's mostly it.

Anyone know a good general discussion forum?

You're not alone in "lost interest"...kinda sad imo :(

I posted in a Matt Damnon that day.

Was that bad?

red-beard 09-12-2008 05:19 AM

Is it over?

So to the tools who couldn't help themselves, 'well done'.

Nice try, Todd. I echo John L's comments.

Gotta agree.:( The board used to be fun. Its really taken a downhill turn. (Even Fastpat used to post some good threads once in a while.) Now, 4 out of 5 threads are the same angry, bitter childish nonsense. You cant even post a simple fun, friendly subject, such as how to cook a steak, without it turning into some political argument WTF?? it's pretty pathetic.
I belong to about six other forums, and none of them have the name calling, nastiness as we do here. Even the ones that do allow politics, dont get as nasty as this board. Certain people are obsessed with it. I thinks its really turned alot of people off, as i've seen alot of us dropping off little by little.

Tell them when they have screwed up a thread. Shame them, but then back off & don't engage further. Since I added 2 names to the ole ignor list, things have gotten much more peaceful. Remember, it is only fun to sputter & pontificate if you have an audience.
