Thanks Mods

Ok I know I am not a real popular guy here but the politics and religious stuff has caused alot of pressure here in OT. I for one would like to thank you for making a place for everybody to go and yell at each other and let OT get back to what it is supposed to be. Bewbs and jokes.
Thanks

Nathans_Dad 09-14-2008 03:48 PM

You said the words politics and religion. Off with your head!

kstar 09-14-2008 03:57 PM

Bewbs are offensive to some.

You'll probably soon find more of them in the place where folks have thicker skins:

Bewbs will certainly fit within the PARF "charter". :D

I'll try to stay away from that accident site and avoid the inevitable rubbernecking. :)

Poor Choich by Wayne. He gave into criticisim, and on a OT He11 Board to boot. All one has to do is NOT open nor read the Politcal threads, if one is faint of heart and can not stand the heat.

This shows lack of a moral backbone that is so prevalent in this day and age. Lets just give into the PC wonkks as their sensibilities are so offended. Next they will be complaining that Free Speech is offensive and that should be moderated as well.

BTW: That is what an OT Board is for all the trash and junk that is not fit to print on other more civilized Boards. It is the garbage dump of the ID.
So what if people complain about the OT, all one had to do was post a statement of policy.

I'd just about written off PPOT (very regretfully) and now I've learned two things...a sub-forum has been created, and "thin-skinned" must be a synonym for "somewhat intelligent" :). Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

kstar 09-14-2008 04:46 PM

If intelligent = unable to moderate yourself, yes.

KFC911 09-14-2008 04:46 PM

Respectfully disagree Tabs...PPOT has/had lost it's appeal for many of us, and it was definitely "broken"...now go push someone down the stairs :)

UconnTim97 09-14-2008 04:48 PM

My post count is going to go through the roof now. :D

Kurt, I may have occasionally thrown out a "Bush hates...whatever" (I'm a Republican) as a feeble attempt at humor, but I (like many) am really not all that political, and simply got tired/bored of it all...the "SOS" all the time. Time will tell...

911boost 09-14-2008 05:05 PM

Cool, if I am feeling fiesty, I will go there, otherwise I am looking forward to more random off topic threads.

Bill

Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!

The sub-forum should allow some other worthy threads to stay on page 1 of OT.

9dreizig 09-14-2008 05:13 PM

I"m confused, I pretty much worship boobs,, so where should the ultimate Chest thread be??

Shadetree930 09-14-2008 05:31 PM

I finally gave in and started using the ignore feature. Whew, did that make a positive difference. Maybe with all the hate and vitriol focused in the political forum this will be a friendlier place.

Rick Lee 09-14-2008 05:47 PM

I don't get it. Are people, who were previously unable to refrain from joining the political threads, now to be deterred by the one more click required to get to the sub-forum for politics?

Keith:

I understand what you are saying, I do. :) I will admit the political thread count (not a new "sheet"!) was higher than normal, but was it too hard to even tolerate titles of threads; seriously?

That Wayne had to spend any time creating a new OT forum because folks couldn't even stand to look at the thread titles is beyond my ability to comprehend; honestly. If one chose to actually open threads that one thought might offend him/herself then there is no excuse for complaints in that regard, IMO. Perhaps complaints of folks who were violating the "rules" could have been made and that offender could have been canned?

Like cat juggling, I don't like the ugliness when some debates get personal and silly, but none of this should be taken seriously of personally anyways.

I think the best solution, that allows most people to be happy in forums like these, is for each member to apply their own individual filter. Each of us likes different stuff, but I would not try to impose my preferences on the community, except as it applies to PPOT being the single depository for everyone's . . . "deposits".

Anyhoo, it's Wayne's deal and we will all just have to deal with it. :)

Best,

Perhaps there should be a "fail safe" and at each click there would be a warning window: "Are you really really sure you want to go to the PARF?" . . . "By clicking the next button you will be taken to the PARF and you accept all of the responsibilities for any hurt feelings or personal mental pain you may feel and/or endure".

:D

I have never complained about them, nor get remotely offended by them, just sick of seeing them. I think its great. It gets extremely old, having to sort through all the threads to read something that isn't political crap related.

ikarcuaso 09-14-2008 06:20 PM

When a seemingly innocent, random, apolitical thread somehow morphs into a bloody holy war, things are out of control. The new sub-forum should help prevent that. Also, many here won't have to waste time clicking on a thread with an apparently innocuous title, only to discover it's complete, political warfare.
