Why do we fight about stuff like this? why does everything have to be this vs. that?
Let me save you some work : Forget all of the Les Paul vs. Stratocaster nonsense you read in the guitar magazines. That's not where it's at. It took me 10+ years and some help from my friends to figure it out, but almost all of the great songs that I'd always thought were recorded with Stratocasters and Les Pauls, were actually recorded with Telecasters and ES-335s. Lesson learned -> get a good Telecaster and a good ES-335 and you are done. ![]()

Teles never really did much for me. ES-335's are gold though.

I love my tele. For a while I almost never played the strat because it would fret out on anything above the 12th fret and would buzz above the 10th fret. I got it set up by a luthier and now it plays great so it's taking time away from the Tele.
