I'm still boycotting MSNBC from over a month ago when I posted a short rant here. As this 3-ply business was NOT reported by my usual outlets, I might have to reconsider the ban . . .

But what about the clogging implications? 3-ply would obviously have more thickness/density, could easily make a 2-flusher into a 3 or more. What about the water use? What about the whales?! Won't somebody think of the whales?!

What's the big deal? 2 squares of 3-ply = 3 squares of 2-ply TP.

Unless each ply is thicker/thinner between the two, it's equivalent. What am I missing? Maybe market research shows consumers typically roll off their usual footage regardless of plys. Thus, increased consumption of TP and additional TP sales.

I bet the 3 layer TP uses thinner paper and thus equivalent to the usual 2-ply stuff but at a higher price. You guys who consume TGIF hot chicken wings and chili, please conduct a test sitting.

I think this whole multiple-ply phenomenom is in response to Sheryl Crow's admonition to use one square per "session".
