Of all the asinine things in the world... There must be a protein in meat that increases rational thinking.

"-- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, cofounders of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., urging them to replace cow's milk they use in their ice cream products with human breast milk, according to a statement recently released by a PETA spokeswoman."

I don't think they thought this one through.

I mean, just on average, how much milk does the average woman make per day? 1-2 liters? You have cows that give out gallons. We have millions of milk cows. Where are get going to find millions of lactating women?

I don't blame Peta, I blame Child proof Pill bottles. How can Darwin get the dumb ones when we protect them so much?

I don't know if a human dairy would be any better than a bovine dairy. I think the humans would complain about, and be less able to tolerate, the conditions, i.e., walking around in their own manure, flies, etc, not to mention the frequent artificial insemination.

You know what? I am for the "ethical treatment of animals", I really am. I never want to see an animal (or anything else frankly) suffer.

Why don't these people understand that by taking their point of view to these extremes all they do is undermine their own stated objective?...to make people consider the ethical treatment of animals? They make themselves into a bad joke. Idiots.

To anyone who scoffs at me for calling PETA bulls***. (it's happened a few times) I show them my Oregon humane society card and ask them to do a little research about Ingrid Newkirk. Then I ask how much time they have spent in a pound, giving love to animals that will likely never find homes. Sorry for the rant. I get tired of educating these PETA jackoffs on street corners here..

Ingrid Newkirk is a terrorist. Do a search on her. She was involved in a bombing at a university years ago. I've posted on here in the past. Just do a search on her name here in OT.

PETA's MO is to make shocking statements because the media will dutifully cover them. In their collective mind, they believe it exposes the hypocracy of normal life. I recall Ingrid Newkirk making a statement a few years ago that she wanted to be cooked and eaten by her friends when she died. In her mind, she thinks this is no different than cooking and eating a chicken and she thinks she is skillfully illustrating this.
