Is now a good time to buy a Corvette?

Company news: Automakers were reporting September sales throughout the session. Among those that have reported, Ford Motor (F, Fortune 500) said sales slumped 34% in the month, worse than expected. GM (GM, Fortune 500) said sales fell 16%, which was not as bad as expected.

Last time they did zero percent financing at Chevy, the Corvette was excluded. The killer deals may be found on an SUV or Truck ...

I always thought the Stingray was an ugly POS. Then I saw one the other day, black on black, great sound, and it looked pretty cool, really. Got me thinking.

Then I rode in a mid-90s track-prepped Vette a few weeks ago that supposedly put out 500HP at the wheels. From the sound of the supercharger and a sore neck from the Gs after the ride, I'd believe it. Freaking fast car.

Porsche sales are down over 40%. I'd say it's a better time to buy a P-car vs. a Vette.... (any day of the week, for that matter...)

I can honestly and clearly recall that the first time I said, "When I grow up, I will have one of those!!!" was when I saw my first Stingray.

Sorry guys!

BTW, Corvette was on a car magazine cover and the title was "It still shakes, rattles, but rolls!"

A friend just bought an '02 M3 to replace his Z4 that was destroyed during Ike. The used car lot had about 4 of the new body style Z06's. I'm not into Corvettes, but apparently there's quit a few relatively new ones out there for sell.

I don't care what anyone says. To me the 1967 Vette is just beautiful. If they weren't crazy expensive, I'd own one.

Local dealer is advertising the GM Employee pricing for Corvettes. I don't dig them, but they are a real performance car bargain.
