Power and down arrow simulatenously will reset most boxes. Info and right sometimes brings up the test. What's the signal strenght?
And to Stuart who is freezing... Are you running an emulator? Ahh the good ole days. Swap between transponders, I notice my brother did better with evens, which is far different than back in the day.

I just received this email below - must have been a widespread problem:
