I would buy AAPL here at $88-89 and I think such a purchase will look brilliant in the short term, IMO.

They have almost $24 cash per share and revenue of $35 per share, among other favorable fundamentals.

I don't think they will be severely impacted by slowing consumer purchasing, which is why some analysts have downgraded the stock.

Yes, and I comment on that on the thread -- but if you read my original post on the stock picking thread I commented:

... don't like the idea of having to pick just one stock for the whole year, but will stick with a poorly performing choice from last year: GSS (Golden Star Resources, a small gold miner that I still think is likely to be acquired at some point -- maybe not this year -- by a larger mining company.)

Top short choices (disclosure: am short with puts): GOOG, BIDU, FSLR.
