				Your stock 'BUY' list.

I think we have a long way to go before we find our footing, but I am working on my short list. There are some obvious blue chips that are being irrationally devalued, but I'm more curious about the slightly less obvious. I'll start: CAO http://www.cskauto.com/Company.aspx They own a variety of auto parts stores across the US. Murrays, Shucks, Cragen, Checker. I believe they are the biggest in the sector. I don't see how our economic woes could be anything be good news for them. Their stock is up 100% since Jan, and they have seen highs approaching $20 (currently around $10) in the past. Come on, dish you Maria Bartiromo fans.....

This obviously isn't anything new, but most people forget to look around them and make a note of the companies whose services they use frequently and enjoy. So when is Pelican going public? Subscribed. | ||

I just bought more Ford (F) at $2.56. If it gets low enough someone will buy them out.

Nothing any of us have access to. If I had access to the same deals he does I would commit as much capital as I could.

Buffett took a position in Kraft about two months ago. I bought in soon after. it hasn't gone up much, but it hasn't gone down, either. It's a good stock to watch. Has recession resistance and some growth potential.

Buffet has said that he only holds two stocks in his personal portfolio - Berkshire Hathaway and Wells Fargo.

And he uses the BH money to do what he wants. I believe when everyone was saying that "Warren Buffet bought $5bil of Goldman Sachs" and $3bil of GE, what really happened was that BH spent the money.

If you had purchased $1,000.00 of Delta Air Lines stock one year ago, you would have $49.00 left. With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00. With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left. But if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have $214.00 cash. Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle. It's called the 401-Keg. I rest my case. Aurel

I'll have to wait and see how the loan situation is for farmers in the months to come. I've been looking at Monsanto. The sell seeds. & JP Morgan Shipping is sinking so I'll pass on those. If off-shore drilling starts gaining steam - Apache

Looking at the thread with our suggestions for a single stock pick for 2008, I think I'll be using the suggestions on this thread as "stocks to short"!
