I always thought building one would be a fun project. All of the midsized ones for kids suck, maybe when mine get a bit older I could build them one.

i built one for my ex-gf.
unfortunately she took it when i cut her loose.
the thing was a dog even with the big bore kit though.
it was the rare auto-stick!
i cant seem to find any finished pics after i added the cage and seat belts.

My donor VW fell through. owner changed his mind about selling it. now he's going to restore it for the seventh year in a row...
I guess I'm looking for a bug now...They arent that easy to find anymore...watching ebay and so on..there are some nice buggies in this thread...
the one posted by deanprichard looks real nice. good work..
I know they are a slug most are in the 40-50 hp range ...if I wanna go fast I'll take the 911 for a drive.
