Did you try this?
Right click on Speaker icon in lower right task bar Select Playback devices Select Digital Output Device (HDMI) Set as default Test for sound, or reboot and test for sound

I did and it did not work. It shows HDMI as the default and the little status bar shows action on the output (bouncing level bar) as if it's playing but I get no sound. I did reboot and still no luck.

I thought I'd chime in.
For my anticipated Mac desktop to 42" Panasonic plasma connection, I ordered a DVI to HDMI adapter cord. From what I understand, the HDMI signal from a computer only outputs video. For sound, you must send audio separately via an adapter cable (3.5mm/M to RCA/M). Your laptop might have an S video port which can be connected to the comparable S video port on the TV. This connector should contain both video and audio signals. I'll confirm when I assemble the pieces. Sherwood Last edited by 911pcars; 12-28-2008 at 09:01 PM.. |
