So Cal - Targa Trophy?

Happened to see a few 997TT and the like heading up to Santa Barbara. They all had this "Targa Trophy" pasted on them. A quick Google search pulled up this.

An excuse for tosspots to put numbers on their cars. This is pretty funny.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Targa Trophy, an unprecedented road rally featuring exceptional luxury automotive vehicles, cutting edge event venues and a diverse demographic of affluent individuals rolls into Los Angeles on Saturday October 25, 2008 for its second Southern California appearance.

Produced by Overell Inc, the event was conceived to honor the world's most prestigious road rallies and is distinguished by its emphasis on connoisseurship, excellence and luxury. Targa Trophy is designed to give maximum automotive rush in a concise time frame with all of the appointments an elite business professional, A-list tastemaker or prominent lifestyle brand expects. For this installment, the Targa Trophy is comprised of a one-day driving extravaganza from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara and back, combining the experience of driving some of Southern California's most challenging roads and the opportunity to visit, relax and mingle at some of the country's most opulent, five-star boutique hotels.

Event festivities will commence at the renowned Fred Segal store on Melrose, a high-end lifestyle shopping experience known for its trend setting merchandise and A-list clientele. Outside the boutique, exotic cars will be on display for public view as drivers and their entourage prepare for the rally's 9 a.m. shotgun start. Entrants will have the opportunity to meet and greet their competition, while all guests will benefit from the attractions and amenities provided by our elite event sponsors.

They are very nice cars, I love getting to drive them. We had 4 of them in the shop this week and being the onlt Porsche tech (this week due to vacation schedule) I got all of them. Sometimes I do love my job.

Whatever you say Sammy. Its perfectly natural for one to filter things through the prism of one's own attitudes. And you are a plonker, after all.

Targa, Sammy, is not cruising between a 5 star hotel and a shopping mall "with all of the appointments an elite business professional, A-list tastemaker or prominent lifestyle brand expects."

This is Targa, Sammy.
