$1,000,000,000

A million dollars was once the mark for wealth, but times have changed.

If you had $1,000,000,000 in cash, what would you do with it?

Probably be in a miserable anguished state of anxiety while trying to resolve what worthy causes and what percent of my fortune I should give to each (keeping a couple of mil for meself, of course).

I'm with Minkoff, that really is not a lot any more.
Better to add it to the retirement account and hope for interest as it will cost more than that to live in a trailer house soon.

After all the debate, I got a Sunbeam Oster at Target. It's black, so it looks really nice after a waxing, but after rain and a few toastings, not so good.

If I had a billion dollars, I would make sure to tell as few people as possible about it.

You would have to have your multi-million $ multicar garage located a discrete distance from your humble abode, ya?

If one wanted to simply generate interest and preserve the principal, what would be the safest place?

I'm guessing that one could get 3 to 5% yield safely, perhaps with some type of tax free bond.

$30M to $50M a year would work.

i'd set up my own institutes for doing good things - mainly preserving the environment; research into alt. energy; elec. cars etc.

not being entirely pure of heart i would drive my ass over to visit them in one of my fleet of vintage and modern sports cars
