Interview with Pinninfarina P4/5 owner
Cool car.
Apparently, the guy that had it built also has a Lola T70 and a GT40 Mk IV and has both cars registered and drives them on the street. ![]() ![]()

That's awesome!!!
I feel a lot better about the P4/5 now that I know it gets driven.

guy is beyond loaded and drives an original GT40 as well (I think)...posts on some BB's and seem to be a pretty reasonable fellow.

My friend met him in Pebble Beach -- apparently the P4/5 owner was as interested in talking about his LS1 powered Corvair as my friend was about his car. They spoke for an extended period, and the verdict was that he is a legitimate, friendly car guy who happens to have the means to have whatever he wishes.

The owner of that car posts over on Ferrarichat.com, he has an amazing collection and seems really down to earth. He drives all of his cars and displays them as often as he can. His username over there is Napolis.

When you put an LS1 in a Corvair, where do you put the radiator?

WOW, that's a cool car! I'm not normally a fan of these "super cars", but I dig this one!

Seems like quite the reasonable guy, I like his attitude towards the cars. Someone should tell him to drop the collar so he doesn't look like a douche.

Imagine, if you will, having the money to commission Pinifarina build you a car based on an update of the classic P2/3, with Ferrari factory blessing and complete documentation.
That to me, would be a visit to the Twilight Zone, but the happy upshot here is that this is just a totally down to earth car guy who happens to have a zillion spare cash dollars handy. The only thing I would change on the car would be the tailpipes, maybe keep the up pipes, but with more of an aero shape and hammered from stainless steel.

He talks about how he changed the tail pipes in the interview. The new ones are designed from F1 tech.

to be honest, i'd rather have having the money to commission Pinifarina to build me a body for the 800 lb. roadster based on an update of the GM skateboard concept car...
i think of it as the ultimate modern 550 or a flying saucer or a flying carpet i can imagine those about as well as a P anything -- am willing to settle for just an old NART tho... |
