Stop watching television.
I have watched about 3 hours of TV in the past month. All documentarys on PBS. TV is waste of time. Unless its porn.

We don't see many political commercials, partly because Oregon is not a contested state, and partly because we use TiVO for all viewing. Thank goodness.
