Any pacemaker safe chainsaws on the market?

My father-in-law just had a pacemaker installed in his chest cavity last Saturday. He was in fairly good spirits until they unleashed the HUGE list of things he can no longer due to the potential damage done to pacemaker. He was never expecting this but he can no longer operate a chain saw due to the electrical impulses given off by the ignition. This is a man who is 70 years old and has for his whole life used a chain saw and split wood by hand. To him it is like a marathon runner loosing his legs. Are there any pacemaker safe chainsaws on the market? Speedy

No idea. But I would like to congratulate you the most obscure topic I can recall on PPOT. Good show man!

Probably not the kind that are a problem. Gasoline chainsaws use a magneto-spark ignition, which throws off a lot of RFI (radio freqency interference). I expect he cannot use a lawnmower either.

Here is a serious answer: A compressed air chainsaw http://www.timberkingpl.com.au/Pneumatic%20Chainsaws.htm

If items like drills, saws-alls or anything with a universal electric motor (brushes) are on the list, this would be also.

That pneumatic saw is intriguing. I wonder if it could be run from one of those portable tanks? Take 2 tanks and have a compressor at the truck. As you use one tank, fill the other. No gas, it has to be much lighter and way quieter. The thing must use way too much air to be practical for in the woods use, and the hose would be pretty cumbersome.

Air Consumption 110 cfm (51.91/s) @ 100 P.S.I Not to mention the compressor

That would require one of those tow-behind air compressors, no?
