Increasingly difficult to find. I have not seen a tube of Noxema in a long time. It works well though.

I use a blade also, and soap. If I'm in the shower just regular soap. Well.....Dr Bronner's. If I'm at the sink I use a mug and a brush, and real shaving soap.

I wouldn't use shaving cream.

In the 22 years she's known me, my wife has only seen my bare face in pictures.

In the shower is a must. BUT- recently, I hit on something big. The gym I go to has a steam room. I sit in there for like 10 minutes, then go out to the sink and shave- its like buttah!

I absolutely HATE shaving. We cannot have any more than a mustache at my company. SIlly rule but one that isn't likely to be changed.

I have a real problem with ingrown hairs.

I have tried tons of shavers and shaving creams, most without much success until I tried my latest method.

I shave at night after my shower so I don't have to do it in the morning before work.

I use a foil shaver dipped in rubbing alcohol and then use a disposable to cut my temple/sideburns.

You guys have similar problems?

I would have more facial hair if the policy was revoked.

Only kidding 'bout the blade, but I do use a brush (badger hair!) and shaving soap with a mug. Gets the stubble to behave.

The mug comments reminded me that I foudn my Dad's Old Spice shaving mug while going through some garage items at my Mom's this past summer. The smell brought back memories of watching him shave when I was a boy.

Badger brush, mug, shave soap as well. Amazing how popular that option is here...
I find I easily get 2-3 times more use from mach 3s than with shaving creme and it's a much closer shave with less irritation.

I had problems with ingrown hairs until I started using a 5 blade razor (Fusion?) and Nivea gel.
Works for me anyway...

Not only do I get a better shave, but it's much cheaper using shaving soap - I use Williams Mug Soap (my CVS carries it) - $1 for a cake. Works great.

In the shower, for sure. Works best, clean-up easy. Not fussy about what brand of razor, as long as it isn't the wife's.

Anyone use an electric shaver? I used to like those things - actually, the gadget guy in me tried to like them - but they were always fiddly, never worked as well as a $2 disposable safety razor, and my preferred brand (Braun) isn't that cheap. I've given up on them.

The mug and brush remind me of my grandfather. He used to let me mock shave beside him when I was a wee lad. Funny, I've never used them myself. Always been canned shaving cream and razors (1 then 2 then 3 then 4 then 5 ...blades).

I'm surprised at how many people choose NOT to use store bought shaving creams/gels. And I don't understand the rubbing alcohol method at all.

I use some fancy shaving cream that my wife found somewhere. It's in a tan can with a blue lid and I'm not going up stairs to get the name. I think it has some oatmeal base, but it's readily available at the grocery store or Target I guess.

I shave after my shower. I'm still rocking the 90's goatee look and am to scared of what I'd look like to shave it off.

No, not DisneyWorld. Our franchise of a large vending company has had a no-beard policy for 75+ years. Every contract year, our unions try to get it changed to no avail.

Personally, I think it's a silly policy but I don't own the company.I do tend to grow at least a goatee when I am off for more than a few days.

I had a union guy come in after his vacation sporting a full goatee. Obviously, I had to dole out a verbal consultation and remind him of the policy. I didn't see him for a few days so I thought the matter was done.

I surprised him at one of our sites and he still had it. I couldn't believe that he just didn't take care of it. When I asked him about, his response was, ( I am not kidding, here) "Awwwww man, the ladies like it. Why do you have to pick on me about something so petty?"

I actually had to write him up for this. Unfreakin'believeable!!!!

You should have made him do it right then and there. Or got him in a headlock and shaved off half until he could go home and fix it. :D

Here ya go, guys...found as an ad right below this thread. If you're going to use a brush/soap...badger hair is the one..don't sucker for cheap synthetic brushes. The soap itself? When the fancy stuff is used up, Williams brand will work fine...

+1 on "King of Shaves" gel. tried some earlier this year while we were in England (able to take it in my carry-on luggage). The menthol is very cool, lubricates well. Found it here in the States at Target.
