My Latest Barn Finds

OK, not exactly "barn"....more like "storage building". These cars have been stored away for 3 years throughout a lengthy estate settlement. Sometimes it's nice to know the secretary working for the "clearing house"... I taught her daughter about 10 years ago and she remembered I collected old "Cor-something" cars. Here's the catch: The man's daily driver: A '95 C4, LTI, 6 speed, Bilsteins, Borla exhaust with 60K miles. Car was dusty and needed the battery charged and clutch fluid. It drives GREAT! Only thing "wrong" was that someone swapped the left rear wheel to the right and vice versa (strange, left tire was on the right side but with the left wheel).

Car #2: A BEAUTIFUL '71 with T-tops ...I've shown against this car for years and wondered whatever happened to it. Here's the kicker: 1800 (yes, one thousand, eight hundered) miles. Only on/off trailer as it's been a show car it's entire life. Only thing it needs is period-correct tires...Yep, a true survivor. Was very clean in the storage building as it had a "Dustop cover".

I know they are "vettes, and it's been 20 years since I've had one, but this is my top "barn find" as of yet. And yes, they were dirt cheap. I'm a happy man.

When I checked places like Pro Team and a few others, I just about pooped my pants looking at prices of "restored" cars with more miles!

The funny thing about the color is that it was picking up some strange coloring from the sun. It's actually a little lighter in good light, more yellow shows instead of the "golden" hue. I was not well versed in the paint codes, so I looked it up after finding the invoice and looking up old photos. It's actually "War Bonnet Yellow". Maybe I can take some pictures in a better light to show it.

As far as tires, it has Radial T/A's right now, but a set of "Period-correct" rubber from Cocker Tire is a possibility. I don't think that there will be many miles put on the '71.

Thanks for the comments guys, like I said, it's been 20 years since I've driven 'Vettes, they sure are not "finesse machines" by any means.
