Victory Motors and Feedback

Well, well , well I logged on to Ebay today and went to leave some feedback for an item I had just purchased and got a message that stated ,

Sellers will no longer be able to leave nuetral or negative feedback for buyers, that way they cannot threaten to slam you to prevent you from leaving the correct " real " feedback when you buy something from them.

If I understand this correctly that is.......

It will be interesting to watch the Victory Motor Cars feedback now, there have been numerous postings on here about the reason they have 100 % perfect feedback, guess now we will see..............

Noticed that something had changed in the Ebay feedback system but did not know what.

As well my feedback went from 480 to 535 overnight and was trying to figure out why????

No negative feedback makes it worthless...

Yep, just checked and they have changed things trying to get more honest feedback from buyers. There have been several times I did not leave any feedback because I was worried that the idiot would give me a negative.

~~~~
Important changes to Feedback
Buyers, you can no longer receive negative or neutral Feedback from sellers.
You should leave honest and accurate Feedback without the fear of receiving negative or neutral ratings.
Well I just checked Victory to see if anything had changed and low and behold, their first Neutral was left on May 18, not a really bad one but they lashed out by hitting the postive for the buyer and making a nasty comment in the text section,
I bet they start getting " real " feedback now, it will be great,
Joe I have done the same thing several times to keep my 100 % rating , I just did not leave anything for the other guy, now I don't have to worry,
I thought there was also a provision whereby sellers could pay ebay what essentially is "hush money" to scrub their negatives.
Has this been eliminated now too? Somehow I doubt that ebay would get rid of a lucrative revenue stream like that. . .
Or maybe the goal here is to get more of the sellers to pony up the big bucks to scrub their negatives by making it easier/more likely that they'll get left them by buyers in the first place?
Hmm. . . conspiracy theory. . .
The "old" system would have worked if it wasn't voluntary feedback.
Had feedback been required from the sellers immediately after the funds are transfered (the buyers job is done, item is fully paid) the buyers feedback when the item arrives would be much more honest. Perhaps holding back the transfer of funds via paypal until the seller leaves feedback would have worked.
I just saw this message today for the first time, too. At first it pissed me off, because I sell a few things on ebay, but then it occurred to me that those days are pretty much done - it was just some extra stuff in the garage, and then finally the 944, which has now sold. My ebay days as a seller are done. Selling the 944 on there was the final straw - what a pain in the ass. Ridiculous flake bidders, ("someone hacked my account" - sure, *******), fees that just amount to rape (between ebay and paypal, probably 15-20% of the car's selling price) and outsourced "customer service", if you can get through.
Feedback rating in % is now based upon performance in the past 12 months.
Formula is: Positives divided by Postives+Neutrals+Negatives
Why is it that I still have negative (retaliatory) feedback from a seller?
My rating has also gone up to 100%!
Mine went to 100% because feedback left by no longer registered users is not incorporated.. What am I going to do now that I no longer have the below 100% chip on my shoulder?
I still remember the good old original days back in '98 when I first started...anyone could go around giving feedback for anyone at anytime for any reason...don't know how I bought/sold so much stuff back then and have never gotten 1 negative!
Boy, I'm so happy that I worked so long and hard to legitimately earn a 100% feedback rating both as a seller and a buyer. It means so much more now that ebay is essentially handing them away to everyone for 1/2 the effort.
I smell a rat. Although I like the idea of being able to eliminate the silly "retaliatory feedback" that sellers have held over peoples' heads for a long time, the system is still corrupt due to the fact that less-than-scrupulous sellers can still get their negatives wiped clean by paying hush money to ebay.
Why didn't they just change it so the seller HAS to leave feedback before the buyer?
As an occasional seller I always leave feedback for the buyer immediately after they paid and before I ship the item. In my mind that's the honest way to go.
