Good God! That's an awful story.

I went skydiving with a blind man once...

I didn't know a German Shepard could howl that loud.

Our dog's are always restrained in the back of the suburban on trips. A 90 lb dog smacking you in the back of the head during heavy breaking will not do any good for us or the dog. I did have a lab that loved to fly in the plane (years ago) I made harness that would hold him down to the seat. He was not a fan of negative g's.

I sometime drive state vehicles so every five years I have to take a driving safety class.

They lecture us on how to correctly position your hands and arms to avoid breaking them in the event of a air bag deployment.

Putting a dog into that equation? Not a pretty picture.

I think that capital punishment should be reserved for the most serious of offenses - first degree murder, killing any child, treason, people who cause gridlock by insisting on entering an already full intersection on a yellow light and block cross traffic for an entire light cycle, and people who park in the right lane of traffic during rush hour while they wait to pick someone up. Clearly people who drive with dogs on their laps also qualify. I am usually a stickler for due process, but for these offenses I would support summary execution.

I blame Paris Hilton, and the little rat dog she carries in her purse. Now every dried up wanna-be starlet whore has their own little rat dog in an imitation Gucci handbag.
