Angela & Tim...
I know you both don't need or want much / if anything...
I miss my Dad, and sadly I never had the chance to do something like this..
thank you..for pointing out what many have forgotten.

Nothing? that is utter crap.

How many times a day do you patiently tell a parent something you have told them several times already?

Angela,
I read all of your posts on your dad's car. I admit, I shed a tear or two. Please keep us updated on the finish of your project.
Tim,
Nice!!

The times you've calmed/advised me on my children's ailments/injuries alone make you a saint. Thank you!

I tossed her a towel along with the $20. Does that count?

Been thinking about responding to this since last night.

I think I'm more kind to strangers than I am to my own family members.

Hmmmm, I should probably work on that.

Wayne. I can relate. I think it's more common than many would admit.

I got started after my last post.

I shoveled my MIL's drive. FIL is out of town and we got a good snow today.

I guess I built up good karma pretty fast as my FIL's cousin showed up to plow not long after I got started.

MIL and I are not really close for various reasons.

Baby steps, I suppose.

I was asthmatic when I was in my teens. My Aunt raised me with my Grandparents. My aunt forced his son to do the chores I was supposed to do. So as a random payback, 2 decades later, I am financing my cousin's daughter 4-year education.

1.5 more years and I am done with her 4-year nursing education. (Let's all hope I don't lose my job in this economy, else a young child loses her dream of getting out of her poverty!!!)

Kudos to Wayne Dempsey. While it might not be the kindest thing he's ever done, it ranks pretty high for me.

we let a homeless mother and 2 year old move in with us. we got her set up in a christian based "rehab" in maryland. i say rehab because i dont know what else to call it, although she is not addicted to anything, but it is for addicts too. im not sure she is going to make it, but for now she is still there. we also foster.

' feels kinda awkward posting about your own kindness, at least to me.

Nevertheless, a good friend of mine has had a trip planned for several months for his wife and kids to go to Disneyworld. MIL was paying for the tickets, rooms, etc. But she can be an emasculating beyotch at times.

He is a really hardworking guy who thru no fault of his own got hammered with unexpected emergency expenses recently. I knew he was extremely strapped for cash for "walking around" money on the trip and that he was thinking of selling a gold piece his dad gave him years ago. Before he did that, I quietly gave him $400 so he could treat his dtrs in the amusement park, take the wife out to dinner, etc without looking to MIL for stuff like that on this trip.

He's the kind of guy who would do anything for you and never expect anything in return. He promised to repay me as soon as he got on his feet, but I said "Its not a loan. I don't loan friends money. Its a gift."

They had a ball. It made me happy.

maybe it will encourage others. kindda like letting someone cut in front of you, maybe they will pass it on
besides, he asked, i did not post it, i fact, i have not really told anyone else about it.

there is this "christian" woman that my wife works with. when she found out what we had done she asked her how in the word could you let a stranger come live with you? from then on she has been nice to my wife.
the reason i say"christain" is that she has to tell everyone how much of a christain she is instead of showing it. she has caused quite a few people to quit.

when i open this post, a pop up says that CDA.FUNNYORDIE.COM is trying to get acess to my computer.

In LAX a few years ago I saw an older lady standing by the monitors obviously befuddled. She didn't speak English and was holding her boarding pass trying to figure out where to go. I gestured to her to allow me to see her pass, and then walked her to her gate. She was so thankful she had tears in her eyes and blessed me with the sign of the cross.

While on duty on military establishment (US Navy) I found at least one ounce of pot on a youngster which could have out him away for life in federal penitentiary I decided to "pretend" it did not notice the pot. I could not justify ruining this mans life for a little bit of mother nature.

Besides the man was a cook. What's the worse that can happen? You can't F'up shipboard food.
