Another Plama vs LCD thread
Now that plasma has the same lifetime as LCD
what is best bang for buck as far as Color and motion Plasma or New LCD at 120Hz Say 42" screensize.

If you have young kids like me...Plasma...The LCD will not survive at the frequent toy flying circus.

Winter is a good time to get a plasma TV; they make a good space heater. If electricity usage is a concern, then consider an LCD. Plasmas consume about 50% more juice. See Link

Is burn-in still an issue on plasmas? About five or six years ago we bought a 42" plasma which has an anti-burn-in feature. Every 10 minutes it shifts the entire picture on the screen by a pixel. They claim this prevents static images such as the station identifier from burning-in, and it seems to work. The shift is unnoticeable unless you're looking for it. I would have thought all plasmas would have something like this by now.

Plasmas do create a lot of heat. Go to a Best Buy or something like that where they have both sitting there on all day and touch one of each.
I looked at both just recently. I prefered the picture on the LCDs to the Plasmas. I ended up with a 120Hz LCD.
