Grappa of choice?

If we're gonna play the game, lets play hardball

I've never drank store bought grappa, only homemade, so that would be my favorite (it was flavored with wheat, of all things).

I had some of this stuff a few weeks ago for the first time. Tasted like a combo of lighter fluid and rubbing alcohol. And yes - I tried 3 or so different varieties, they all tasted like ass.

It's a particularly strong liquor related to brandy. It's the leftover grape parts from wine, refermented. Usually flavored with something (fruit, grain, botanicals).

STRONG. The homemade stuff I had was over 60%.

It rhymes with "crappa"... It is, without a doubt, the most vile liquid sold for human consumption. Seriously. Battery acid probably tastes better and is certainly less corrosive.

Hideous! I only drink it on a dare!

None. I'll leave it with the Tuica and other awful beverages, alcohol or not.

As a fan of grappa, I'm eagerly waiting for my Romanian coworker to bring back some of that "tuica" hooch. They say it's high test fire water.

Grappa - who would have thought of fermenting, distilling and drinking pig feed?

The good stuff is bad. The bad stuff, oh geezus. And THEN there is the stuff they sell at the side of the road.

I have several bottles that I try to pass off on guests a few times a year...

There are few adult beverages I avoid, grappa is one. I went through a "phase" where I was into tasting them (I worked in the beverage industry) and started getting a palette for them but honestly it's too much work to like them.

Peppermint schnapps, particularly Leroux 100 proof, is another drink I'll forever bypass...
