Why are you limiting yourself to the hard top? I'd recommend a soft top with a rollcage.

Yeah but we get rain and snow here, once in while. And I would drive it year round. I like the idea of a hard top because of the quietness and security. Not to mention I like the way the hard top looks better than the soft top.

But after the wonderful responses I have received on this topic, I would never admit I had interest in a "MX-5" any longer.

Thanks, I think.

There's just a lot of people here who are so close to the edge that a Miata might just cause them to switch teams. Don't let them sway you with their repressed man-love desires

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Your assignment for the weekend is to head for the nearest dealer and drive one. If you like the way it feels and you fit, don't concern yourself with what's been said here.

I bet a Miata will take to a set of snow tires like a jungle cat in heat.

That one Heel-y posted looks pretty cool, with the fender flares.

Maybe if you painted one flat black (like Reapers 935) it wouldn't attract the gay attention. Or put a a sticker on it that says "I eat *******", that would clear up any misconceptions.

Ofcourse, I am 6-4, and can't fit in a Boxter until I think the 05 model (or whenever they made the change to how the seat is mounted).

I have always thought a Miata with a 302, or that 4 valve 4.6 ltr Mustang Cobra motor would be a fun car, like a more modern Sunbeam Tiger.

Isn't there a Mazda speed version with a turbo? Everyone knows a turbo automatically makes whatever car it is attached to cool and ultra masculine.

Even if it isn't turbocharged, a turbo sticker makes it uber-manly.

You can't forget that the "turbo" sticker also adds 50 horse powers.

If you wear a pair of tight leather pants you should be fine.

Drive anything you like. I personally want a Mini and a Jeep Wrangler. My buds think both those cars are gay.

Plus I like the Fit.

I'm 6'1" and weighed 200 ( at the time, I'm down to 180lbs now) and I had no problem fitting into the Miata. Nice car, lots of fun!
