i back up with my computer HD and multiple external HD's ALWAYS

If i download a tune, I back it up immediately before i forget

itunes blows WMP out of the water, which you will learn, if you have a little patience and fun exploring it....youll soon be making party playlists that will be the talk of the neighborhood :-)

however, a nano is way too small. there is something nice about carrying around 30,000 songs in your pocket with the 120gig ipod.... its like having jedi powers

Dollars go into your account until you decide to use them, no expiration. I'd put it into my account, cards can be lost pretty easy.

Sounds like you're talking about the "Sansa Clip"....Recently bought my wife the 4 gig model for under $40 to my door. I've got a 40 gig I-pod, but she wanted something simple and cheap. Can't beat it for the price. The fm radio is nice and you can use it as a digital recorder as well. Looks like the 4 gig will hold about 700 songs...

Yeah, Windows Media Player is ok for little stuff, but iTunes is better IMO.

No, the Nano is perfect. I have a buddy that has an 80GB and just got my stepson a 120GB. They are bigger and heavier than I'd want to carry around very often. I have an older 2 GB model. It's too small (storage capacity), but perfect for size. It's hard to believe that holding 300-310 songs is "too small" but it is. I think I could be happy with an 8GB. I've got almost 50 GB of music (which is a tiny fraction of what I'd like to have).

Sorry that I have not responded, but I have been busy jamming some old cds with my boy.

Thanks for all the info, turns out itunes is pretty good.

Sometimes I am afraid of change.

Thank you,
peppy

playlists is the fun of digital music in my opinion

click the small + button in the bottom left and a new playlist will be created in the left collumn

name it whatever you want

then, start dragging songs from the right, over to the left and rearrange the playlist as you wish, by dragging, song length etc...... fun fun fun

then, on the ipod - when its connected, click on ipod and make a playlist the same way BUT - you can now copy/paste and drag the contents of your itunes playlist into your ipod playlist etc.... explore
