Screw It - I'm Just Gonna Sit Here and Get Loaded

As Seattle continues to suffer through the worst, most protracted winter storm on record, I've reached the end of my rope. Cabin fever has well and truly set in. It was supposed to warm up and rain today - uh huh - here is the view from the front porch as I am typing this:

I'm at my wit's end. I have reverted back to one of the things I do best. Getting loaded. Here are the results of sitting around for the last week, hitting it hard, snowbound at home:

Detail view of the individual loads. Left to right, .357 mag with 158 grain Speer, .44 mag with 300 grain LBT cast from wheel weights, .45 Colt with 270 grain RCBS .45-270 SAA also from wheel weights, 6.5x55 Swede with 160 grain Sierra, .375 H&H with 300 grain Sierra, .45-2.6 with RCBS .45-500 BPS, .45-2.6 with 540 grain Jones Creedmoor, .45-2.6 with 550 grain Hoch (all cast 20:1 lead/tin), and finally the .458 Win Mag with a 500 grain Hornady soft point:

I'm gonna run out of empty brass in a couple of days. By then, I'll be ready to shoot something...

My wife works in Everett, and I am finishing up the trim work at the Tulalip hotel, so we have been spending a great deal of time with her folks here in Everett. It's such a hassle to get around, it feels like Mount Vernon is in a different state not one county away!

It cleared up here in LA today, but I'm on the couch sick with an annoying head cold. I'm hoping it'll go away as I've actually got a few work-free and kid-free days right now and the bike is wating. But the clock is ticking...

i could be worse. you could be stuck having to come into work this week to answer phones that just wont ring. at least the INTERNET is on at work still.

cabin fever has hit some of my neighbors finally. they were out shoveling the street when i swung by the house at lunch today. but they don't seem to be making much progress. at least the wet snow the last couple of days is melting on what i have shoveled. i haven't needed to do any since Wednesday afternoon. but i am regretting not doing the driveway yesterday. the 9" of slush is getting a little squirrelly pulling up to the house.

how did Chris like his present? every time i saw "A Christmas Story" yesterday i thought of him.

I can get around just fine, but just to be on the safe side, I'm gonna get loaded too.

I am glad I live 50 miles further south down here near T town. We have wet roads and some rain. We ended up with around a foot of snow but it's melting fast. I've been able to drive around easily since Tuesday. No cabin fever, just plenty of time to work in garage. I hope you guys get to dig out soon.

Happy Holiday's,
John

Jeff,

I'm a Boeing employee and just got back to LA from Mulkilteo. I stayed at the Marriot above Ivars on the Speedway. Do you know where that is? I will be going back soon to do some structural design/development on the new 747-8 project.

I'll buy you a Mack and Jacks. I'm a 7.62 x 51/63 type guy. I like and own some new and old guns myself.

Bob

It's worse out here with the slush. Seattle is a disaster zone - only the interstate and major roadways are OK.

I can barely get into the neighborhood with an AWD truck.

Bull**** actually

Better days will come. Take it easy and take care of yourself, Jeff. Getting hammered is of course one way of doing that. At least in the short perspective. Donīt drink and shoot and if you do - please aim at something that is already dead.

PM me when you get back in town - I'm a Boeing guy as well. I'm in AOG tool engineering, so I'm in and out a lot, but I'm always on line.

Tongue in cheek, my fine fluffer friend. I'm actually very much enjoying the quiet time around the house that this weather has "allowed". I'm usually running around like the proverbial chicken with my head cut off this time of year. This year has been very relaxing. Oh, and don't worry about the booze and firearms - strictly verboten, the two never mix in my company. I enjoy both, but they make for a very bad combination - like booze and 911's...

As any good NRA member knows, alcohol and gunpowder don't mix.

Alcohol and Gasoline do mix, but you get poor mileage.
