Damn, 140,000 Euros? Isn't the dollar Euro exchange rate somting like 1.14? If that's the case, you'd better be ready to dig deep.

The price is only 14.000, not 140.000:

Voiture compléte Prete à courrir = 14000euros (complete car, ready to race)
sans moteur = 10000euros (without engine)
sans mot. boite et jantes = 8000euros (without engine, gearbox and rims)

Thanks, that is what I thought, 14,000.

Aerodynamics, for the most part...A friend had a 69 Bug with a 115 Horse 912 engine, plus 5 speed transaxle...without any aero aids it got really spooky past 100 mph...

why not build one of your own? basically same layout as a 911 if you are talking about a super beetle

I remember reading an article where a 2.4 liter 4 cyl Super Beetle beat a 2.4 liter 911 on a tight road race course, not the best aero, but there is no replacement for light weight. Both were full on race cars as I recall

That is the plan that I have had for a while and I already have a stock pile of bits just for that, but time is not my friend and I have a few other projects on the burners.

Correct, but it was a 993 Cup car that got beat

I want a sleeper, an Orange Super Beetle with widened steel wheels & VW caps (yes, I have the core rimes too)

Always wanted to build a Kafer cup racer.

Some how I got bitten by the 914 bug instead. So deep I will never get out from under them.

This one races in my group in our vintage club SOVREN. Runs with our Formula Vees (which are bugs basically, set up for road racing). 1965 Bug with a cool racing history. If I remember the plaque correctly has been a racecar most of it's life. Part of the Emory Motorsports stable of cars.
