That's insane! I wonder if you can charge the state interest like a Payday Loan?

Yep. We get an IOU. And the chances of the state ponying up are slim. Or, they can just say they won't.

Cali will just file chapter 11 and the restructuring will cancel all the IOUs. It's done all the time.

Only if by "LOL" you mean LOck and Load". Fkin' bastiges. That'd be the last straw if it happens. Seriously. If I get a friggin' IOU from this state, I'm done with CA.

LOL. That's classic.

Can Californians who owe money can send in IOUs as well? Seems only fair.

If this happens for a second year, it will drive people from the state in droves.

Are people who have to pay allowed to issue an IOU to the state?

The obvious answer is that a thinking person will immediately change their state witholding, thus eliminating the chance for a recurrence.

thought about this as well.
I bet that will deplete the coffers for 2009. Enough is enough.

Amazing that politicians can't cut fat, where it should be cut. It is getting sad..

People willl claim a gazillion exemptions for 2009 and the state will be out of more money. It is a very short sighted move. Shows how desperate they are. I will makes sure IOT (I owe them) in 2009. This is nuts ...
