Methinks

Annoyed, I punched this word into Pelican's search and got an astounding number of matches. Why do you use this word? Are you:

1. A master thespian?
2. Wearing tights? Or ruffles?
3. Travelling through time?
4. A user of words like "Hark!" "Betwixt" and "Wherefor?"
5. A sword owner?
6. At a renaissance fair.... in your mind?
7. Saying it out loud and not getting beaten up?
8. Going to trendy bars and ordering a flagon of mead, just for kicks?
9. Using it when discussing cars, sports, tools, or firearms?
10. Bookish, or pretending to be so?
11. A hopeless romantic?
12. Battling your friends with padded weapons in the park on weekends?
13. Able to quote Monty Python movies line for line?

Okay, that's enough. I feel a little better. But seriously, knock it off. It's lame.

You deliberately searched an internet bulletin board for a totally inconsequential word that happens to annoy you just so you could start a thread ranting about it? Now that is lame. Get a life.

This dolt hath deigned to change his city's name
whilst thinking "clever me, who playeth game
of sly corruption of the name Bellevue
by wittily renaming it Smellvue!"
whilst unbeknownst to that poor village churl
inhabitants of Bellevue mostly view
such truculence as really quite askew
and looketh down upon it as quite lame
to play that childish simple-minded game
and thinketh it (if thoughts indeed come later)
as nothing more than churlish Nader's nadir.

Methinks....maybe?
