Is this real?

When I saw a CNN story on invitations to the Inauguration, I immediately call my representative's office and asked for an invitation. they laughed and said TONS of people were calling, couldn't promise anything, they'll get back to me.

Got this in the mail yesterday. The paper is heavy stock and it looks official, but with the goofy plates out and all, could be a scam. There's nothing about it that couldn't be easily duplicated, so I'm leaning toward scam.

Anyone seen an official invitation that they know 100% is real? Does it look like this? Going to call my rep's office tomorrow to confirm.

little bit of research, I don't think this is anything credible. it's official, but only in a "come on down" kind of way.

It looks very much like the ones from the Bush inaug.

I went to Bush's inauguration in 2000, I was a special guest of our rep and got to see a ton of inside stuff which was very cool. We had tickets to three balls, one in the Smithsonian where they removed all the ropes from he exhibits which was very very cool.

That being said, I wouldn't go again unless I had VIP treatment as the masses just get horded everywhere and it's just way way too busy. We got to move around via the underground tunnels in the Capital which was a hug time and headache saver.

Read it carefully! You are invited to any of the "public" viewing areas. It's not a scam, just worded in a funny way and a way to offer some hotel packages that will get you an expensive pass. Also to sell some more crap.

Are there other pages with details about time and place? I would imagine something should have your name on it, for you to show at whatever gates there are. I can't see a presidential inauguration having "transferable" tickets.

If it's legit, are you going? That would definitely be cool.

Have you considered calling them back to ask if this is legit... and if so, what it entitles you to?

I would love to go Christien, but am very behind on production right now, and still would like to go to CA for a silk screen show.

I left a message with my Rep's office yesterday. I had grand plans of taking the bike down and being part of the unwashed massed somewhere in the Capital that day, but will only go down if I have some access to the main throng assembled at the event itself. Would be a great place to meet girls too.
