It's not. You are reading into this. I'm just wondering what State would have been the high vote for the majority since the Countries inception. For example Texas is winning big time right now but would that have been the case during the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf, Ect? Maybe so, I'm not a historian. Just wondering...

having lived in TX and learning about how it was formed, I think it might be the least patriotic state. It's a republic, and all you ever hear (as an outsider) is how it can secede from the Union very easily.

I lived there for 12 years. I couldn't agree more. I've also lived in 6 different states. While my current one ranks dead F'ing last in my eyes, (the We Don't Even Kiss You First state), NH does mean it... Live Free or Die.

Having lived in one of the original thirteen colonies and Texas I think I can speak about this topic. The 4th of July was huge in my hometown in Jersey. Parades, fireworks, and funnel cakes. In Houston it's just who can have the bigger fireworks display. I really do miss it up there.

p.s How many states actually have a trail that run's through there city visiting different patriotic sites such as Paul Revers house and Old iron Sides? Been a long time since I hiked the Freedom trail.

I like Texas, New Hampshire, Oregon and Montana. Wyoming too.

Having lived in Massachusetts for a large part of my life I can say it's extremely rich in HISTORY, not so much in patriotism.

So you're asking which state has the highest percentage of people (people are the state, right?) who have a love of and devotion to this country? Good luck getting an objective answer to that question!

By the way, Shaun, I'm more patriotic than you are! :p

Jim Richards 01-11-2009 06:17 PM

My excrement is more patriotic than...oh, getting carried away. I never saw that coming.

mud flaps.

Given your service and your posts, I have to agree. Now, the real battle would be DARISC vs. Jim Richards. :D

but then what about a 3-way cage match between DARISC vs. Jim Richards vs. Danimal16?

You make a good case for NH. I live in California and it really depends on the area of the state. Overall I would support taking California off of the list. Try Arizona and for a little fun put Oregon on there as well.

The 4th was the same when I lived in Nebraska. You better have you shopping and what not done by about noon because everyone used to block off streets for block party's. everyone had a bbq going and cold beer for pretty much anyone. people would just go from house to house and talk eat and drink. I miss that.
