What is the most Patroitic State?

What do you think in the most Patriotic State is?

Any others you think qualify?

I'd go with Wyoming. I never hear about them begging for money. ;)

slakjaw 01-11-2009 05:18 PM

Yeah I was thinking the list needed more states.

wcc 01-11-2009 05:18 PM

why legion? I'm looking for a commitment (history) and not for just 'these' days....

TimT 01-11-2009 05:19 PM

You have slighted 44 states...

Did you discount the contribution of these states when selecting the one you used for the pole?

No, I just was trying to get a ballpark. Sorry if I left out a State that is truly the most 'patriotic'. I tried to cover the North, East, South, and West VERY roughly.

there's more founding of the U.S. history in MA than any other state, and while it has it's problems, I think MA school kids ranked #1 in the world recently in math, economy is relatively strong, great universities filled with diversity...

TimT 01-11-2009 05:28 PM

I think the most patrotic stiill would be any of the original 13 states.... specifically Massachusetts....New Hampshire is way up there.... state flag is "Dont Tread on Me"

Shaun @ Tru6 01-11-2009 05:29 PM

Paul Revere's house is 15 minutes away from me.

wcc 01-11-2009 05:36 PM

shaun and tim - Great point! But I wasn't thinking of founding but more of support since it's inception. Like what State has the 'high' score of Patriotism since day one.

How is patriotism quantified?

TimT 01-11-2009 05:41 PM

Also Im out if this thread gets sent to parf......

Shaun @ Tru6 01-11-2009 05:42 PM

Bill, you'll have to define Patriotism then and perhaps a grading scale. 10 points for every Military enlistment, 20 points for in-battle service, 50 points for silver stars, purple hearts, etc. or perhaps there are other parameters that define Patriotism on a statewide level.

It's not. You are reading into this. I'm just wondering what State would have been the high vote for the majority since the Countries inception. For example Texas is winning big time right now but would that have been the case during the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf, Ect? Maybe so, I'm not a historian. Just wondering...

Shaun @ Tru6 01-11-2009 05:46 PM

Actually, NH may edge out MA. License plate reads, Live Free or Die, and they take it to heart. I think the State Reps get a $300 stipend or similar. That's government of the people!
