Well it's certainly not my place to repeat what i was told, but based on it, i can certainly see why vroomgrrl feels 'picked on', for lack of a better term.

just keep track of here "stupid stuff' when you need it, pull it out an go over her head.

my boss use to send out emails saying things like "you are directed to ......" this has stopped, only after long counseling with a wanna-be gov. shrink. i work for the FAA.
we all did an individual survey, with the wanna be shrink, the consensus was, he is untrustworthy, does not know how to handle stress or make decisions, does not know how to deal with people, just a few i can remember. yes he is still boss. the reply i got from his boss when i talked to him, even with proof of lies, was, he is the best manager we have.
he promotes bad attitudes instead of encouraging you to do well.

I don't know your organizationalk dynamics, but one excellent response alternative would be to do nothing. Let it go. I was told many years ago that the higher you go in an organization the more insecurity you find. I have verified this.

One would think that it'd be the exact opposite. Go figure.

You almost didn't have to mention the FAA........6 years ago I was thinking of of retiring from my preset gig.....applied on line for an FAA position but withdrew it after finding out how dysfunctional they were. There are so many good people within that organization willing to do more, but every so often I run into some real dinks.

Amen. I have run up against a prime example of the Peter Principle in action. I have let this doozy pass and have maintained my usual pleasant and professional demeanor in dealing with this azzhat :)

Whoever said this proves women belong at home - TELL IT TO MY HUSBAND :)

Ha, Ha! You're funny!

I always say to my friends that have wives that work (out of the home), "How do you get your wife to work?; mine won't." Ha, ha, such fun!

Keep Smiling! :)
