Aha! Another good reason.

I also love the moving snowbanks: people that were too lazy to clean their cars off.

Gawd, I hate winter.

Ian

btw . . . I was driving max 70 km/hr (42 mph) in an AWD Audi with 4 snow tires when I was doing all of my stunt driving terrorizing Toronto this morning . . . on dry roads . . .

I was out today, too, with the wife. She was driving. I was sweating in a polo shirt and flip flops. God, I love SoCal weather.

Ah, but every place in the world sucks in its own unique way. SoCal is a great example . . . winter isn't high on its suckage list, I will admit.

Brush fires and earthquakes are high on CA people suck list along with TRAFFIC. Can't lose my home because of the cold, but I can lose my house to a brush fire or earthquake.

I've heard that everything slows down as absolute zero is approached. Dunno how closely you have to approach it to notice it, but maybe that's what you're observing.

I once tried to get laid in a snow drift and the cold brought the speed of erection to a crawl.

The biggest reason.

Other reasons (not already listed) include:
- reduced or no shoulders
- worse gas mileage in the cold

AND-- I can't drive my 911!!!!
