Anyone actually been HIRED in the last 3-6 months?

Looks like all but one or two are either direct or indirect gov jobs....this is not a good sign.

Even I applied for a gov position, there is just nothing going on in Michigan right now. I am a firm believer in the ebb and flow but I think we have a ways to go before it turns.

You could search around online for wanted ads, but i got into it from being in the business and just pestering my former employer to let me do the company repos. Once he did, and i decided i could make a few bucks at it, i got a license.

Well, I picked up more clients over the weekend and a few more today (they are hiring my services. Our business has increase over 30% the last few months, of course, we have been busting our tails to get new business and increase old. DD74, what do you do at Warner Bros??

last week i was cleaning out a file cabinet and found a bunch of stuff from "biker mice from mars". if talent counts for everything, explain that.


last year one of my bosses paid for me to start a series of courses. continued it on my own, and am just starting to feel comfortable with maya. gonna make an effort to break out of my little career rut.

I have had several friends laid off in the industry last year only to be picked up by EPA or consulting firms recently.

If Obama keeps environmental programs funded, especially superfund sites and base closure clean up work going, most will survive this mess. For now its USTs, due-dilligence (Phase I and Phase II assessments), existing federally funded clean-up work and compliance holding everything together in this industry.

If Obama pumps money into infrastructure as he says, a ton of work will be available not only for engineering and construction firms, but environmental consultants as well.

We shall see......

I've got 25 years in that industry....they looking for people in Enhanced Vapor Recovery, Asbestos and/or Lead?

Nice to know. I was an environmental consultant for 25 years, did lots of UST work. I'm a CIH and my CA Registered Environmental Assessor # is 006 out of the 10,000 in the state. Hopefully I won't need it.
