24 Hours of Daytona: Montoya=whiner

I just had to get this off my chest. Montoya was such a big whiner in his post-race interview after the 24 Hours of Daytona. So annoying!

He said, when asked about how it must have been tough to have the "best-handling SLOWER car,"

Quote:
The annoying thing is we probably carry less wing than they did. We had less wing - we had such a good-handling car. But every time, you know, you get traffic and they just blow by you, and they get traffic and you can't even keep up with them. It's a little unfair, but it is what it is...
His interview starts at 3:15 in this video:

WHINER!

Garage
And Scott Pruitt show what a class guy he is.

And Buddy Rice still can't figure out how to wear a cap. That why he'll never make it in NASCAR.

On top of that he didn't even have the class to congratulate the winners. I said this on another thread... As classless as Montoya was his owner showed class. His 02 car could have caused trouble for the Porsche but let the 01 & 58 race and stayed out of the way.
Thanks for the YouTube Kathy. I was at the race but missed victory lane.

I agree totally. Besides that, is this what racing has become. Drivers complaining that it is "unfair" that another car is faster than thiers? Its a RACE....of course one car is faster!

What should happen Mr. Montoya?

"Ummm, Donahue....were real sorry that we had to black flag you, but you were clearly faster on the straights which as you know goes against the spirit of the rules here in Nasc....errr....Grand Am. If you dont slow down, we will be forced to disqualify you."

Yeah, and Im sorry, Rice just looks like a total DBag. I am guessing there is a reason why they didnt do a victory lane interview with him.

Oh, and final note. Take off your sunglasses when you are doing an interview you classless hacks!

That is all.

THAT, TOO (didn't congratulate the winners - BARELY thanked his own team!)

The commentators were making a big deal about what 02 was going to do when 01 & 58 were going at it - what we were able to see on regular TV was pretty exciting, from beginning to end! Must've been great to be there in person, the whole event fairly sizzled off the television screen.

I saw some great photos from the weekend on another thread - was that you? One had the reflection of the ferris wheel in the fender of what looked like an old black Pcar (356ish-looking to my untrained eye). Great shot! If those weren't yours, where are YOUR photos?

Montoya whines about a hp disparity?
Even with the first and second place cars finishing seconds apart after racing for 24 hours?

I'll have to go back and look for that!

Meanwhile, I just saw another post noting that the Brumos #58 was found to have been 12# underweight on a post-race inspection. They were fined but it did not affect the championship.

Montoya is only going to feel justified now. Can't wait to hear the whining start up again! NOT.

You know I was looking! Believe it or not there weren't that many. I saw some '#33 girls' what ever they were but couldn't get off a pic. They were down by the pits and I was in my seat Anyone else???

So you are the Jeff I met! I had asked for Jeff Alton and since I hadn't seen him I thought it was you. No wonder you looked at me like I was a stalker!! Anyway it was a pleasure and congrats on finishing the race.

Ahhh... there were a bunch of people coming up and introducing themselves all the time. My favourites were the guys that would come up and try and strike up a conversation while I was trying to strap in our driver in order to get him out on track for the qualifying session that was starting 2 minutes later. *sigh* "sorry, no time right now, maybe later, thanks, bye"

So yeah, I'm the short, fat, goateed "Jeff", and Alton, well, isn't. He's more like the anti-Jeff.

And he has cool wheels for sale, and I don't.

Well I was going to say "OVER IN THE BABE-AGE THREAD" but I see they are now here, too.

Saw some activity on the thread and came back to make more fun of whiney Montoya, only to find pictures of grid girls. MEN. You all need a sex change so that you, like I, can look down your own shirt or over your own shoulder in the mirror to see ALL THE BOOBS AND BUTT YOU WANT, ANY TIME YOU WANT.

OK OK yes, I know. That would take all the fun out of it. I'm just sayin....

They ARE lovely, and I enjoy looking at pretty girls myself, so no real complaint here. Just ribbin you guys.

This does remind me, though, I'm so glad I figured out what a "grid girl" was before I chose my screen name. I was thinking about "grid grrl" since I work pit & grid at the racetracks, but I figured out pretty quick that it was not quite the same thing! I don't think those girls are going to be push-starting any cars in those get-ups. Tho I'm sure you'd all love to see them try!

I used to hang around race tracks with all the noise, heat, etc.

These days I prefer a nice quiet pool hall.

All that said, wish I could drive as well as that "whiner"...
