YO, smart people, need an allen key size
i need an allen key size...im not sure what to get
i have a canadian product, specifically a bryston b-60 stereo amp.....there is an allen key set screw holding a knob on that needs to come off i tried a 1.50 and a 2.0. My multi-set allen key tool doesnt say, but I assume the measurement is in Millimeters the 1.5 is a hair to small and the 2.0 is way too big....... not sure i can get a single small wrench at home depot and they and lowes put all the mom and pop hardware stores out of business ... ![]() thanks

How about 1/16", that's 1.5875mm
5/64" would be 2mm I doubt there's a 9/128", so it almost has to be the 1/16" My guess is that if you have a 1.5 and 2mm and they don't work then it would almost certainly be SAE (assuming that you're 100% positive that it's not a tiny torx).

Between .059" and .078" there aren't allot of choices, my bet is 1/16" which is .062"

Somewhat humorous that you are in the USA and using metric tools and the Canadian product (from our metric country) appears be in inches.
I am with Steve, it sounds like it is 1/16" You should be able to get a complete set for $5.

I'll second the 1/16" or a torx.
I've got an amusing story about trying to get wrench sizes by feel: I once had a Renault that I needed to take the front brake calipers off. I felt the bolt head which was hidden around behind the upright and you couldn't get your head in to see it. I guessed the wrench size at about 17mm but the wrench didn't fit. I then tried a 15mm and a 19mm but they didn't fit either. I found a 16mm - nope. Surely a european car wouldn't use inch sizes? I tried them, no joy either. Finally I decided to get a mirror and a flashlight so I could have a look... ...a five sided bolt head! Bloody French. ![]()

Our water shut off valves are five sided (the ones on the street). I assume it so only the city workers can turn the watter on and off.

Unless you make something yourself - you don't. That's Renault's way of making you take the car to the dealer. That car was pure evil and I really don't want another Renault ever again.
