I'm neither up tight about boobs or pot but...

A guy who works with children and is a role model should not have a dwi and this picture out there. I bet this does affect his ability to make money.

I personally think any celebrity caught dwi or in a picture like this is an idiot. I mean you got all this money, you can't take a taxi or walk up to a guy and say "Here's a cool 5 bills to drive me home?". And for the pictures, you couldn't offer the guy the same money for his phone so he can't post them on the internet???

And I bet all the people who say legalize this or that would not be so happy to find their 13 yr old kids doing it.

IMHO of course...

Alcohol is legal. Do we let 13 year olds do it?

That's kind of a straw man argument IMO.

I didn't say we would let 13 yr olds smoke pot did I??? To your point, 13 yr olds do drink right? How? Because alcohol is in every house. Real easy to siphon off some Jack without someone noticing it or stealing a beer or two once the old man passes out.

If pot was legal don't you think it would be easier to get? Their are a lot of people who would like to smoke pot but are put off on the risks of aquiring it. That decreases it's availability.

And that's not really my point. I was pointing out the hypocrisy of people who say legalize this or that, but in reality would be horrified to have thier kid caught with it. I actually bet most people in favoring legalization don't have kids.

I wrote a whole lot more but deleted it. This isn't the most serious of thread, sorry for kind of hi-jacking it.

In my experience the stoner's wouldn't be getting up off the couch much less hitting the road!

When I was 13, it was a heck of a lot easier to get pot than booze. Every parent in my circle of friends had their booze well secured. Pot, on the other hand, was distributed through an unregulated system. We knew who to ask. None of us had siblings over 21, and there was no way in hell our parents were buying for us.

I guess we just had different experiences growing up, or maybe my friends were better thieves. I did grow up in NJ, you know.

I also think I grew up in a down period of pot use the 80's. Obviously pot was big in the 60's and 70's. Then it kind of faded when other drugs and alcohol had a big push. That's when I was in college. Of course pot came back with vengeance and is obviously still going strong...

Fair enough. From my perspective, legalizing makes something harder for kids to get their hands on, because that was my experience.

So you can see how I see legalizing as a good thing overall.

BTW, I went to high school and college in the 90's--pot use was rising exponentially during that period.

Let me give you an example of the ONE time I drank alcohol in high school.

My friends father had all his booze locked in the spare bedroom closet--which he had installed a key lock on. Because the door was hinged to open into the bedroom, we pulled the pins on the door and took the door off. Once inside, we discovered that every single liquor bottle had a black marker line and a date on it. We knew better than to try to outsmart his father. We knew he kept a log with the dates in his bedroom safe, so adding a date and a line to a bottle would be detected the next time he sampled from a bottle. As he had a rather extensive collection, we simply poured enough from each bottle to touch the bottom of the black line into a thermos. Vodka, gin, tequila, rum--it all went in. It tasted like $h!t and there wasn't enough to get any of us buzzed.

My parents were teetotalers and there was no alcohol in our house. My other friends' parents only bought the booze they were going to drink for the night. Still, other friends knew the retribution that stealing from their parents would bring and didn't risk it.

Mr. Phelps just made Olympic history. He is obviously an amazing athlete. Perhaps people should get over their 1950s Refer Madness hysteria.

For reason that are obvious, I'm gonna be a little vague, but there are a heck of a lot more professional folks that smoke than one might think.

It is a big deal for the guy's advertisement contracts. These contracts are selling an image of the athlete, which now may be damaged. Needless to say, these contracts often have clauses that protect the advertising company. This likely was a very very costly hit from the bong.

We always assume that athletes must be smart, since they are successful. Not a good assumption ... If it comes to image, it is a lot easier to be selling the Snoop Dog image, I suppose ...

I think you will be correct more often if you assume the opposite.
