1/32 Slot cars
Forgot how much fun these are; had them put away for a while during front pan work and recently got them back out. My 4yr old does great (have a voltage regulator) w/ the 550 and i can barely keep up!
Ordered another Cortina the other day as well. Super fun to drive w/ just the right amount of magnet. Looking for good deals on more of the Carrera '70s NASCAR rides as well. The black Torino i have is entirely too much fun (big time sideways in the turns). ![]()

Funny that you should post this. We spent the weekend at my parents' house. My 3 yr-old son went rummaging through some cabinets and found my old Tyco slot car sets from about 20-25 years ago. We got them out and did a little racing. He (and the other kids) loved it.

I've got quite a few 1/32 scale slot cars. I've recently been selling a few on e-bay as I picked up some new, somewhat collectable stuff and couldn't justify the number I had. I always used to have Scalextric stuff, and still have a lot of my old cars. My boys now have the Sclaextric at their house and I bought a Carrera digital set to experiment (play) with at mine. While the digital stuff is quite expensive it is great fun. You can run multiple cars on just two lanes and depending on how many people are racing you can set some cars up to run constant speed controlled by the computer. These then change lanes on the lane change sections at random so you have to be fairly careful setting up your passing or you can get stuck behind a slower car for half a lap.
I still have the parts to switch the track back to a conventional two-lane set for when I want to run my old Scalextric stuff. I'll see if I can take some photos of the cars when I get back tonight. There are a couple that I think you will particularly enjoy!

Thought about the digital but price and car availability put me off. And the Carrera track is bigger than the already big std. 1/32 stuff! If i had the room and bux maybe...
The layout i bought (LeMans 24 w/ LMP2 cars) has a pair of crossover tracks and it definitely makes for even more fun as we have to be careful in those turns. I've gotten to the point w/ the Carrera Torino that i can purposely knock my little guy off the track when i'm on the inside of a turn!

I know what you mean about the Carrera track, it's enourmous. Saying that, the additional width helps avoid 'racing accidents'

That's nothing; if i wreck on the side of the track he marshalls he says 'wait daddy, i'll drive around' and thus completes another lap on me!

I like your 550, but how about these...
![]() These two cars below in a limited edition box set. Unfortunately I think they sold out pretty much straight away although you may be able to find a set somewhere... ![]() ![]() I've only had to wait about 25 years for Scalextric to make a Lotus 49.

Yes, the Carrera 6 is a Fly model.
Fly seem to make some of the nicest slot cars and make a good selection of Porsches. Detail-wise a lot of the other manufacturers have improved in the last few years and they all look pretty good now. The Scalextric Lotus and Eagle are awesome in my opinion, my pictures don't really do them justice.

Inspiring.
I have a box of 1/32 track and a bunch of cars, in the basement. And some left-over 4x8 plywood sheets. I think I'll try to come up w/ a layout that can fit on, and be fastened to, a 4x8 - then we can find some place to put it. My old layout - years ago - had a 16' straight. That's when wife would let me run the track throughout the living room. I no longer seem to have the necessary status.

Love those routed tracks do a search for Blue King they use the 1/24 Flexi Cars very fast ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfOg_v5U62g&NR=1
I agree Fly models look best and are fast too ! Ninco makes some nice models also. A few of my favorites the 1/24 Carrera 6 is a 1970s model from Carrera the 917 is from Fly. ![]()

Good stuff indeed. Had a nice big layout in the old house but since moving just haven't had the time to build a new track.
Here are my cars (mainly Fly and Carrera) that are on display for now: ![]()

I want a track but have no friggin room at the time. What scale would I need to be able to set up a small (3'x5')? Thats all that I could get away with at the time. I dont want a detailed track but something would be nice.
Oh and for the iPhone users download the Slotz app. Its well worth the 2.99 |

HO for a tight fit.
I started with a pair of these on a ping pong table. $160 4 lanes, 4 cars and controllers. Makes a long 2 lane. It was fun. ![]() http://www.brshobbies.com/catalog.php/BRSHobbies/ct/pd343711/TOMY_AFX_9939_International_Super_Challenge_4_Lane _HO_Race_Set |
